Each of our programs provides a curriculum framework that is broad, balanced, conceptual, and connected. All of our programs require the completion of culminating projects or activities that showcase higher-order learning and rigor. We nurture a diverse community of members through leadership education, hands-on experiences, a range of skill-building activities, and a program that builds on their development.
Foundations of Leadership emphasizes building communication skills, collaboration, problem-solving, personal responsibility, and social action.
Students begin their NSLS experience through customizable and holistic approaches to learning. Our five-step curriculum challenges our community of leaders to identify personal and professional goals. Students receive the tools to accomplish their goals and work toward a successful future.
Advanced Leadership Certification dives deeper into the importance of effective communication in interpersonal relationships.
The curriculum consists of an orientation, advanced online leadership modules, training on securing and benefiting from mentor relationships, three additional Speaker Broadcasts, community service, and skill development in leading a Success Networking Team (SNT).
Executive Leadership Certification allows students to master their leadership skills by taking on more roles and applying their learning in real-world situations.
The program combines learning modules and practical, hands-on experience to develop networking skills, train as a mentor, and better understand leadership education. The curriculum includes executive online leadership modules, a special Executive Speaker Broadcast, and facilitator training to build upon the skills learned in the Advanced Leadership Certification program. The capstone is a Better World project that challenges students to use their leadership training to improve their community.
