The University of Maine at Presque Isle’s chapter of NSLS recently hosted a Red Cross Blood Drive. Members of the campus and community were invited and encouraged to participate in the free event. Traditionally, UMPI helps to put on three blood drives during the year for the American Red Cross — in the spring, summer, and fall. In fact, since 1987, more than 5,000 pints of blood have been collected at UMPI through these drives.
The school hopes to keep this tradition going. Everyone is encouraged to help save lives at one of the largest American Red Cross blood drives in Aroostook County. The goal for this blood drive was to collect over 100 pints of blood.
